It was a successful outing for Whistler-based freeride athletes Josie Cooper and Alexa Maxwell last weekend at Panorama Ski Resort.
Cooper locked down a gold medal in the IFSA U15 girls' competition with a total score of 56.47. She barely edged out fellow local Alexa Maxwell, who went home with silver (56.20). Keira Badry rounded out the top three (55.77).
Meanwhile, Jake Yarnold earned some hardware of his own. His 63.00 points even were enough to net him bronze behind victor Griffin Paterson (63.63) and runner-up Seth Sands (63.53) in the U19 men's event. Owen Yarnold had to settle for fourth after a valiant attempt in his own right (61.64).
