Wednesdays are no-longer Phat

The Kokanee Phat Wednesday Downhill Series had its last go Wednesday, Aug. 31. The racecourse started on the Upper Whistler Downhill followed by the lower section of the Nationals course.

The overall standings for the six race series are as follows: junior male, Tyler Allison came first with 282 points. Kyle Jameson came second with 260 points, and James McSkimming placed third with 200 points.

For the females, Jen Ashton won first with 355 points, followed by fanny Paquette, 269 points, and in third, Angela Teng with 240 points.

Jeff Beatty placed first with 321 points in the men’s category. Adam Billinghurst was one point behind at 320, and in third, Adam Cook with 239 points.

Whistler women’s Hockey League looking for players

The Whistler Women’s Hockey League is looking for new players and holding its annual draft, Thursday, Sept. 15.

The league will have six teams again this season.

Women 19 years or older are invited to check out the draft on Sept. 15, 8:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. at the Meadow Park Sports Centre.
