Whistler Olympic Park to host Dog Day on March 11

The final night skiing session of this winter will be on Wednesday, March 8

Do you love cross-country skiing? Do you love dogs? If so, then you may want to swing by Whistler Olympic Park (WOP) for Dog Day.

On Saturday, March 11, all proceeds from WOP tickets sold will be donated to Whistler Animals Galore (WAG), a local non-profit organization that cares for and rehomes many cats and dogs each year. Skiers can bring their canine companions for a day out exploring Callaghan Valley's many dog-friendly trails.

Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., WAG representatives will be hanging out at Porter's Glide (or the main "dog loop") to accept cash or online donations. They will also be offering a Dog Day raffle with numerous prizes on the line, as well as a range of sustainable pet apparel from Little Pine Pet (which will also be contributing a portion of Saturday's sales to WAG).

The Pemberton Dog Agility Club will also be putting together a small obstacle course for athletically-inclined canines.

Keep in mind also that your final chance to go night skiing at WOP this season will be Wednesday, March 8. Guests are invited to put on their best throwback clothes and join the park's Retro Night, with discounted $10 tickets from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. After this point, WOP will still be open during regular daytime hours until April 9.

On weekdays from March 13 to 24, kids and youth aged 18 and under get free admission to enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, biathlon and tobogganing in Callaghan Valley.
