It was a respectable outing this past weekend for members of the Whistler Sea Wolves Swim Club at the Langley Long Course Invitational.
Half a dozen swimmers advanced to the finals of varying races. These included Jack Hally (50-metre breaststroke, 100-metre freestyle, 200-metre individual medley), Annabel MacLennan (100-metre breaststroke), Eowyn Yeung (50-metre backstroke), Keaton Petrusic (200-metre breaststroke), Marin Jensen (50-metre butterfly) and Charlotte MacLennan (50-metre freestyle).
Other local athletes who took part were Roman and Alin Andrus, Noah Hally, Rhett Yeung and Sharliz Brown.
"We had a great group of swimmers head to the Langley long course meet last weekend," remarked Sea Wolves head coach Brandi Higgins. "All of the swimmers crushed their previous long course times, as well as crushing their coveted short course times. What a great way to kick off the long course season!"
Whistlerite swimming fans may want to mark their calendars for May 24 and 25, as the Sea Wolves host their yearly Open Invitational Swim Meet at Meadow Park Sports Centre. Roughly 200 competitors from across the Lower Mainland are expected to take part.
