A cyclist was hit by a vehicle on the Sea to Sky Highway south of Furry Creek Monday afternoon.

The rider has been transported to a Lower Mainland hospital, according to Squamish RCMP.

No other information was available about the person's condition.

Squamish RCMP say both lanes were closed for a short period to allow emergency vehicles to access the rider, but it has reopened.

Traffic is still slow and expected to be for most of the day traveling southbound.

We will update this story if we get more information from the authorities.
