Evacuation alerts remain for Upper Pemberton Meadows

Beginning next week, Highway 99 will be closed in the pre-dawn hours as road crews work on the Nordic Hill area. The highway will be closed from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. between Nordic Drive and Hillcrest Drive at the entrance to Alta Vista.

Whistler's school kids may be getting into the Olympic spirit this year in an end-of-year play involving all the elementary schools.

Part of Blackcomb Mountain went up in flames this afternoon around 3 p.m. Plumes of smoke rose from the northwest area of Crystal Ridge and were visible from the base of the mountain and as far away as Nesters and Function Junction.
