ICYMI in Whistler: Isobel MacLaurin passes at 92

RMOW to keep sourcing asphalt from Cheakamus Crossing; Team Squamish Cycling to host March 1 fundraiser
Isobel and Paul Fournier4
On Thursday, June 17, Arts Whistler hosted the Fashion Garden Party at Our Lady of the Mountains Church in honour of indelible Whistler artist and bon vivant Isobel MacLaurin’s 90th birthday, and to raise money for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. To cap the festivities, Paul Fournier led (or was it the other way around?) Isobel in a dance to “Lady in Red.”

Welcome back to your weekday wrap-up of Sea to Sky current events.

Community members are mourning the loss of Isobel MacLaurin, as Whistler's first professional artist passed away at the age of 92.

The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) will continue to procure asphalt from Alpine Paving's plant at Cheakamus Crossing.

Team Squamish Cycling will, on March 1, host the premiere of two new films in a fundraising effort.

Alexa Maxwell, Juno Buhler and Sadie Richer have qualified for the B.C. gymnastics provincials.

The Poet's Pause Poetry Competition is back for a 16th year.
