One Mile Lake’s beach and lawn area will be closed to the public from April 8 to allow for maintenance work to take place. The popular lawn area will be closed for a month with disruptions to the parking area also expected.
The Village of Pemberton’s (VOP) public works crew is working on shaping up the area ahead of the busy summer season. The revitalization project will include:
- Drainage improvements
- Fresh sand at the beach
- Aeration, top dressing, and reseeding of the grass area
The timeline also allows for the green spaces’ growing and recovery period. The beach and grassed area will be fenced off during this time. The boardwalk, trails and docks will not be affected.
The VOP thanked locals in advance on its Facebook page.
“We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to enhance our community’s outdoor spaces,” the post said.
