The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) is investigating after a plane went down in an emergency landing north of Pemberton on Sunday.

On July 17 at approximately 10:40 a.m., a Tyax Adventures Air Services De Havilland Beaver float plane, travelling from Tyaughton Lake to Lorna Lake in the South Chilcotin mountain range, went down in an emergency landing, Tyax Adventures said in a release.

The emergency locator transmitter was triggered, and emergency responders immediately mobilized for rescue. Five passengers and one pilot were on board.

The passengers and pilot sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment, the release said. One passenger and the pilot remain in hospital, while the other four passengers have since been released.

The TSB has been notified, and a full investigation into the cause of the accident by regulators and Tyax Adventures is underway.

"Our priority is always on the health and safety of our passengers and crew, and we are grateful that those onboard were so quickly rescued and transported for emergency care," said John Morris, Director of Tyax Adventures, in a statement.

"We would like to thank the RCMP, the Canadian Forces rescue coordination centre, BC Emergency Health Services and other emergency personnel for their exceptional and rapid response."

Tyax Adventures is a backcountry tourism operator offering hiking, mountain biking, sightseeing and camping in the South Chilcotin mountains.

In April of this year, the company was acquired by Blackcomb Helicopters.
