The Village of Pemberton will launch an affordable housing survey on Jan. 27, following an information session on Jan. 26.

The Village of Pemberton (VOP) is inviting residents to sound off on affordable housing.

On Jan. 26 at 6 p.m., the VOP will host an online information session describing what it’s done to this point to investigate affordable and, specifically, age-friendly affordable housing in the community, as well as what still needs to be done.

The VOP will then host a survey from Jan. 27 until Feb. 17 to gather feedback from residents.

“Currently, very little housing in Pemberton is considered affordable. Council’s [No. 1] Strategic Priority is to take action on this issue. The Village recognizes that facilitating a range of housing options is essential in creating an inclusive, affordable and [liveable] community in Pemberton,” the VOP’s Have Your Say site reads.

Residents must pre-register in order to attend the information session. More background information, including the action plan, needs assessment, background report and options related to affordable housing are all available on the website.
