Watch: Whistler pow day traffic on Highway 99

More than 20 cm of fresh snow fell overnight; travel advisory remains in effect for Sea to Sky

No surprises here.

With more than 20 centimetres of fresh snow falling overnight, it was slow going on Highway 99 this morning.

It seems a travel advisory isn't enough to keep the masses from the slopes on the first big pow day of 2023.

This dash cam footage, recorded at about 8:30 on Sunday morning, Feb. 26, shows the sluggish traffic conditions from Whistler Village to Function Junction and back.

All part of life in a ski town.

Here's what you can expect on the mountain today, assuming you eventually find your way off the highway.

Whistler Blackcomb is reporting 23 centimetres of new snow in the last 12 hours, and two to four more centimetres in the forecast for today. Expect a high of about -6 C and a low of about -12 on-mountain today. The freezing level sits at 800 metres, and WB is forecasting light winds for Thursday.
