Max Oughtred has recently been selected for Team Canada as a junior trampoline practitioner, and as such he is going to Pamplona this November for the World Age Group Gymnastics Competition (WAGC).

Back in May, Oughtred earned a national championship title to qualify for Worlds.

"This has been a dream of mine for a while - to be able to showcase my years of dedication and effort to this sport and on an international stage," the 16-year-old said on a GoFundMe page created in his honour. "I want the younger athletes at my club who look up to me know that they can also achieve great things coming from a small town.

"My family have all been superstars at helping support me through my career, but because the costs for this event are quite high, I thought it appropriate to call on friends and family and whomever else out there would like to be part of my journey and to help support this dream. I will be working this summer to help pay some of the costs, but I will need to raise additional money to pay for training between now and November, travel, board and accommodation for the event, coaches' fees and competitions prior to November."

Oughtred needs to raise approximately $6,800 to fund his WAGC experience. Those interested in supporting him can donate here.
