The second Park Rider Sessions event of the season, a slopestyle, took place Sunday in the Nintendo Terrain Park on Blackcomb. The conditions were perfect with fresh snow the day before, and soft-packed take-offs and landings.

The Kokanee Valley Race Series got off to a rocky start this season with the first event being cancelled due to the snow and cold, but organizers had blue skies and sunshine for the second event on Thursday, Jan. 8.

A field of 85 skiers and riders turned out on Saturday night for the second King of the Rail contest of the season at the base of Blackcomb, with at least twice as many spectators watching the show.

Members of the Whistler Blackcomb Freestyle Club were strong in the first provincial series event of the season in Revelstoke.

First of all I need to apologize for not having written an article yet this season. But, it’s a new year and I am back. I am happy to be writing again and back into the rhythm of things.

The world is coming to Whistler in less than 14 months for the Olympics, but Whistler has been going to the world for a lot longer than that.
