Whistler’s Melanie Bernier was part of a six member Canadian Ski Mountaineering team that took place in the Alps between Switzerland and France recently, racing in the individual, vertical and long distance events.

The snowboard team has been traveling non-stop for the last couple of months and some of us are still on the road. We just finished up with the World Cup finals in Italy and are now getting ready for nationals at Cypress Mountain.

The Whistler Mountain Ski Club had a busy weekend, with the K1 team (age 11-12) racing in the provincial championships at Grouse Mountain, and members of the K2 team preparing for the upcoming nationals at Silver Star.

I sit down to type this article in a wonderful jet lag daze after returning from Europe and feeling very happy to just be home.
