The Canadian Avalanche Association is holding Avalanche Awareness Days at ski areas across the province this weekend.

Locally, on Saturday, Jan. 9 the Whistler-Blackcomb ski patrol will be presenting a variety of demonstrations at the top of Whistler Mountain. CARDA rescue dogs will demonstrate how they do their jobs, avalanche transceivers will be available for the public to try, and two-hour seminars on avalanche safety will be offered.

More information will be available at the base of the mountain.
