With Environment Canada’s forecast predicting some amount of rain over each of the next seven days, a heavy rainfall notice has been issued and the Village of Pemberton (VOP) has posted advice on how to prepare.

On its Facebook page on Monday night, the VOP advised residents to be prepared for localized flooding.

“The Village will assist when possible but may not have the resources available as we protect our own infrastructure,” the post read.

Other recommendations include:

• registering for the VOP’s PembertonAlert emergency notification system at pemberton.ca;

• developing an emergency plan, such as the one found at https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/safety/emergency-preparedness-response-recovery/preparedbc/make-your-plan;

• ensuring family members who need extra assistance are prepared;

• clearing gutters and storm drains; and

• checking the VOP’s Facebook or homepage for updates.
