Man charged in weekend stabbing

A 41-year-old man from Burnaby has been charged with assault with a weapon after allegedly stabbing another male in a hotel on Northlands Boulevard early Sunday morning.

A 41-year-old man from Burnaby has been charged with assault with a weapon after allegedly stabbing another male in a hotel on Northlands Boulevard early Sunday morning.

According to the RCMP, two males and two females were staying in the hotel when Vernon Wang stabbed the other male, who is 28 years old. The RCMP responded to a 911 call at approximately 1 a.m. Nov. 4 and attended the scene with other emergency personnel.

The victim was treated at the Whistler Health Care Centre and released with non-life threatening injuries. Wang has also been released from police custody.

The RCMP are continuing to investigate the incident.
