More changes are happening at Whistler Blackcomb as the COVID-19 pandemic wears on.

The company sent Pique a statement on Tuesday, Oct. 13, confirming some employees have been let go. A spokesperson wouldn't say how many jobs were affected.

"Like other companies in the Sea-to-Sky corridor, the ongoing COVID19 pandemic has impacted, and will continue to impact business," the statement said. "In order to take on the challenges of operating during this time, we are focused on optimizing our labour force to meet the needs of the business and the current market. As such, we have redeployed staff members, we will not fill certain jobs and have eliminated some positions. We recognize the impact these decisions have and we are committed to supporting those affected employees through this transition."
