Shane Richard, who has been charged with Whistler’s first murder in two decades, will be back in court in February for a bail review.

The Surrey man, who is in his late 20s, appeared in court Wednesday, Jan. 9 to establish the date for his bail review.

He has been in custody for 10 months, ever since the early morning shooting of Michael Boutros in Whistler Village on March 10, 2007. Richard was arrested soon after the shooting after a short foot chase with an RCMP officer and his dog Stat. It is believed the shooting took place after a confrontation between two groups after the bars closed for the evening.

Richard will appear before the B.C. Supreme Court on Wednesday, Feb. 6 for his bail review.
