The first ever inter-mountain helicopter shuttle service has taken flight in Kelowna, ferrying guests between Big White and Silver Star Mountain Resorts and the surrounding areas.

The Schumann family, which has owned Big White for years, bought Silver Star just before Christmas.

There is an AStar 6-passenger helicopter based at each resort, which remains on stand-by each day for a variety of purposes.

Some will chose to fly for scenic purposes – an 8-minute tour of either mountain costs $49.95 (plus GST) per person, based on four people.

Others will opt for inter-mountain shuttle flights which start at $75 per person one way, based on six passengers. This trip takes about 20 minutes.

There are also winery tours of the Mission Hill Winery and an airport shuttle service. Both of these services cost $450 one way and up to six people at a time can be transported.
