A pedestrian was struck and injured while trying to run across Highway 99 in the early hours of Thursday, Feb. 14, police have confirmed.
Just after 3 a.m., Whistler RCMP was called to a report of a pedestrian hit near the intersection of Highway 99 and the entrance to Brio. In an emailed statement, police said a vehicle was travelling south when the pedestrian "tried to run across the Hwy and was struck." The driver and witnesses remained on the scene to assist until emergency crews arrived.
The pedestrian was taken to the local healthcare centre with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
