The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m, on Friday October 15 as MacDonald was traveling southbound into Pemberton.
MacDonald suffered serious injuries during the crash and was later pronounced dead at the Pemberton Medical Clinic.
The B.C. Coroners office is conducting an investigation into the exact cause of MacDonalds death but the RCMP believe excessive speed was a factor in the collision.
The driver of the flat-bed truck has not been charged but the RCMP is asking for any witnesses who have not spoken to police to contact the Pemberton RCMP on 604-894-6634.
In other news, Mark Rempel and Rachel Adams were found dead last week in Squamish.
Autopsies were performed on both at Vancouver General Hospital on Oct. 14.
Squamish RCMP is conducting an investigation into the incident and is in the process of evaluating the forensic evidence and analyzing the toxicology results.
