The resort real estate sales and marketing division of Intrawest Corporation, Playground Real Estate Inc., announced last week that a 54-unit development on Lake Okanagan had sold out in five hours.
Mission Shores is a townhouse project being built by Mission Shores Developments Group. The project will be part of Intrawests "Resort to Resort" exchange program, meaning owners of Mission Shores properties are entitled to exchange the use of their homes for vacations at a number of Intrawest resorts, including Whistler.
Sales opened and closed on Aug. 9. The majority of buyers were from Alberta, Kelowna and the Lower Mainland. The cottage-style townhouses are located on Lake Okanagan, in the Mission neighbourhood, and were sold as freehold, strata-title homes. Prices ranged from $379,000 to $1.4 million.
"Mission shores is within easy reach of all the top attractions of the region such as wineries, golf courses, ski resorts and downtown Kelowna," said James Askew, Vice President of Playground in the Pacific Northwest and Central U.S.
Askew said the success of the sale was not surprising given the location of the development.
