British Columbia will be celebrating Family Day a week later starting in 2019, Premier John Horgan announced on Friday (Feb. 9).
The province initially chose the second Monday of February as the date for the long weekend back in 2013, even though the rest of the country marks it on the third Monday of the month."Moving Family Day is the right thing to do for businesses small and large, and is better for families who may be spread out across the country," Horgan said in a release. "This gives families an opportunity to schedule and spend more time with loved ones from other provinces."
