Riders on Rat Race podium

The annual Rat Race at Robert's Creek on the Sunshine Coast attracted a large number of riders, including some top names from Sea to Sky. Tyler Allison was a DNF in the lap-heavy cross-country race, while Greg Grant placed 22 nd .

In the age groups Greg Doerksen placed first in 19 to 29 Citizen Men, while Belinda Hare was third on the women's side.

Squamish riders dominated the junior women's 15 to 18 category with Lauren Rosser first, Kristin Drygas second and Eden Imbeau fourth. Nick Geddes, a part-time Whistler rider, was first in Under 17 Men by more than four minutes, while Quinn Moberg of Team Squamish was third, followed by teammates Owen Scully and Jereomy Pelletier.

Trevor Hopkins placed ninth in Master 30 to 39 Men, Cathryn Zeglinski was second in Master 40-plus Women, and Mike Charuk and Bob Allison were second and fourth in Master 40 to 49 Men.

Scott Brunning was 12 th in Open Citizen.

In the downhill race on Sunday, Emily Slaco of Whistler placed second in the 19-29 Citizen Women's category. Meghan Illingworth of Squamish placed first in Master 30-plus Women.

Tristan Merrick was fourth in Senior Men 19 to 29.

Katie Holden of the U.S., who is riding out of Whistler, won the women's race by almost 14 seconds, while Kari Mancer placed third.

In Elite Men Adam Wright was 15 th and Greg Grant 18 th .
