What:          DEep winter photo challenge Five photographers have been invited to team up with athletes of their choice and spend three days on Whistler-Blackcomb capturing the essence of legendary winter storms. A slideshow presentation will showcase their work as they vie for prize money and the coveted title ‘King of the Storms.’ Tickets are $9.99. Call 604.935.8410.

What: Special storytime & craft After the hubbub of the holidays dies down, children can gather at the library to share a Deep Winter storytime and a related craft activity. Pre-registration is required. For info call Jomichele at 604-932- 5564.

What: KEY   LEADERS’ orientation This orientation is for leaders representing business, education, the faith community, elders, government, health, law enforcement, media, parents, etc. This session will provide leaders with an overview of the Communities That Care (Pemberton Area) preventation planning system. What: icon gone Whistler’s favourite leaders and agitators will parry onstage in a verbal gladiator match that will pit them against each other in a competition over Whistler’s greatest icon. Cheer them on and make sure your favourite icon wins! The night will be presented in conjunction with the Whistler Museum’s Master Plan Open House. This is a free event.

What: DANIEL   BOLSHOY As a classical guitarist, Daniel Bolshoy has performed in festivals across the country. His recitals are regualrly broadcast on CBC radio where he is praised as both a solo and chamber music performer. Tickets for the event are $22/$19. Call 604-935-8410 for information.
