A Surrey man is facing charges after he reportedly obstructed a police investigation, with a hand from his wife, before assaulting officers this week.
At 11 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, police responded to a report of a man refusing to leave a local pub, according to a release. Police said they encountered the man nearby, who then “elected to obstruct the police officer in his investigation,” at which point the man’s wife “jumped in to stop police,” the release said. The 38-year-old male then reportedly kicked and head-butted the attending officers.
Both suspects were eventually restrained and arrested. They have since been released with a future court date.
Whistler man arrested after trying to break into ex’s home
A Whistler man is facing charges after he reportedly attempted to break into the residence of an ex-partner last week, police said.
At midnight on Monday, Oct. 15, Mounties attended a disturbance on Ambassador Crescent in White Gold, where they arrested the 36-year-old man.
The suspect was held in custody to appear in court.
Laptop stolen from Whistler hotel, police say
Police continue to investigate the reported theft of a laptop from a Whistler hotel, according to a release.
Investigators said a male gained access to the IT room of the hotel before making off with the laptop. Mounties are currently reviewing security footage of the incident to identify a suspect.
