WHISTLER ALPINE CLUB GEAR SWAP.

The club’s main fund-raiser for the year takes place Dec. 2, between noon and 4 p.m. at the Coast Whistler Hotel. Equipment can be dropped off for sale between 9 and 11 a.m.

BEST OF THE BANFF MTN. FILM FESTIVAL

. Fourteen mountain films from around the world will be presented at 7 p.m. Dec. 2 and 3 at the Myrtle Philip Community Centre. Different show each evening. Tickets from Escape Route.

LOCALS’ DAY WITH THE FREERIDE TEAM.

On Wednesday, Dec. 6 members of the Whistler Freeride Team are inviting skiers and riders to experience the mountains with them. Meet at the Garibaldi Lift Company at 8:30 a.m. No beginners, please.

. What Harry Potter can do on a broomstick, Kaeshammer can do on a piano. Only 23, he’s played with some of the greats of jazz. For his Dec. 8 concert in Whistler he will be joined by Simon Fisk on bass and Damian Graham on drums. At Our Lady of the Mountains Church, 8 p.m.
