Tourism Whistler partners with Resort TV

Tourism Whistler and Whistler Resort TV (WRTV) are joining forces to incorporate real time information in the broadcast to keep resort guests up to date on what’s what.

Tourism Whistler and Whistler Resort TV (WRTV) are joining forces to incorporate real time information in the broadcast to keep resort guests up to date on what’s what.

The information will include up-to-the-minute weather conditions, as well as a comprehensive view of Whistler’s activity, dining, retail, entertainment and event offerings.

"Tourism Whistler has entered into this strategic alliance with WRTV because it is the ideal business collaboration for the benefit of the Whistler consumer and Tourism Whistler members," says Suzanne Denbak, President and CEO of Tourism Whistler.

"We endorse WRTV and the unique information product it provides our Whistler guests, and in turn, the promotional opportunity WRTV provides our membership. This partnership will enable Tourism Whistler members the ability to promote their products and services through a comprehensive and current broadcast that will reach all in-resort guests."

WRTV will resemble other televised information networks, such as CTV Newsnet, Sportsnet and MSNBC, which have text information across the bottom or side of the screen. The Web-based updates will appear under the regular broadcasting, including weather and snow conditions, events and exchange rates.

The launch date for the revamped WRTV is Nov. 1.

Whistler Resort TV, channel 19 on the box, was first launched by the Resort Communications Group in December of 2000.
