Whistler juveniles compete nationally

Three of Whistler’s up and coming racers had a chance to compete nationally against the best young skiers in Canada at the National Juvenile K2 Canadian Championships from March 18 to 25 at Mont Tremblant.

Three of Whistler’s up and coming racers had a chance to compete nationally against the best young skiers in Canada at the National Juvenile K2 Canadian Championships from March 18 to 25 at Mont Tremblant.

The Whistler racers were Britt Gibbons, Alison Leighton and Mila Rusminovich, who made the cut for this event at the Canadian time trials at Panorama in February.

In the downhill, Leighton finished 35 th , Gibbons 41 st and Rusimovich 46 th . Gibbons was 23 rd in the super-G, while Leighton was 36 th and Rusimovich 41 st . Leighton also finished 27 th in the slalom, while Gibbons finished 27 th in the giant slalom.

All three will be competing against a strong international field in the Air Canada Whistler Cup from April 6 to 8 on the Upper Dave Murray and Raven runs.
