The recently completed ski jumps at Whistler Olympic Park are getting some use this week with the first ski jumping and Nordic Combined test events taking place from Jan. 2-5. Some of Canada’s top prospects for 2010 are in the field for both events.

Last year more than 440 female skiers and snowboarders received tens of thousands of votes in the first If Ullr was a Girl contest hosted by Whistler-Blackcomb.

The Test of Metal mountain bike race didn’t set any new records for registration this year, but by 8 p.m. on New Year’s Day all 800 spots had been snapped up.

Terrain park rats will have a chance to show what they can do in the air and on the rails this Saturday, Jan. 5, at the second Park Rider Sessions event, presented by Telus.
