Monday, April 22 , marked Earth Day. If we're being honest, the occasion seems to be little more than an excuse for social-media posts depicting our more picturesque adventures.

Having now spent the majority of my life skiing in Whistler, I've become accustomed to how we tend to do things here.

Thirty-five new Canadians. Many family members. A few friends. Some officials. Ten tables. A room full of welcoming, hope, opportunity, arrival. The end of a long journey for most, the beginning of another for some.
